The Montana Woman Foundation empowers women in Montana to improve their lives through providing educational opportunities and diverse support based on individual needs. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2004 by a group of women who believed that supporting, encouraging, and nurturing one another is vital to a womanβs success in reaching her potential, leading a positive life and contributing to her community. We are a group of women with a wide range of skills, histories and passions, and a common goal to uplift Montana women. We host workshops, award scholarships for continuing education, and foster mentor relationships. Everyday we strive to help all women in Montana no matter their social, economic or cultural differences.
How The Montana Woman Foundation Empowers
- On average, The MWF awards up to 4 $1,000 scholarships to Montana women. To date, we have given over $75,000 in scholarships. In 2021, we were able to award more than $10,000 to 5 recipients. We awarded 4 $2,000 scholarships, a laptop and Microsoft membership to Shelbie Nance, and 1 $1,000 scholarship.
- Our Mentorship Program, a FREE and flexible relationship that The MWF fosters between 2 women.Β
- Our Workshops are events that offer insight and education on a variety of topics, and every workshop is open to the public. They are wonderful opportunities for learning, building friendships, and for promoting a circle of giving.Β
- In the past, we have also provided wardrobe assistance for women who were either rejoining the workforce or leaving a bad situation, and provided job training events.
To date, we have been able to provide over $100,000 worth of resources to Montana Women.
We are able to support the women in Montana thanks to membership fees, Sponsorships, donations and fundraising. 100% of our profits goes back into supporting our scholarship program and hosting workshops. The request for support continues to grow as we receive hundreds of scholarship applications from worthy recipients every year.
